IT Implementation Manager – Summer Student at Nokee Kwe

JOB DESCRIPTION:  IT Implementation Manager- Summer Student

Position is for 35 hours/week for 9 weeks

(a) is between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;

(b) is a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the

Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and

(c) is legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

*International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.

Job Summary

The individual in this position will assist to set up podcasts, IRC television info casts, manage IRC tech, set up virtual conferencing, assist with the creation of YouTube videos, support smart boards/training, video/cameras and related tech, wipe old computers and load operating systems, and take the lead on Nokee Kwe’s computer give-away project.  They will assist with the organization of the agency shared drive and support staff with day-to-day tech needs.  They will assist client in the resource center with their tech needs and co-facilitate digital workshops.  be able to discuss all of Nokee Kwe’s programs and services in a competent manner.  They will provide weekly reports.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Conduct IT inventory
  • Conduct IT inventory for computer give-away and cross-reference with waitlist
  • Ensure give-away computers have been successfully wiped
  • Install operating systems in give-away computers
  • Arrange for curb-side pick-up of give-away computers in accordance with waitlist
  • Assist drop-in clients with tech issues
  • Be thoroughly familiar with electronic, print, and other resources/technology that may be used in day-to-day operations
  • Generate weekly progress/up-date reports
  • Attend program, staff, and other meetings as required
  • Facilitate very basic IT workshops if required
  • Participate in cross-training as required/Attend and complete required training/professional development

Educational and Experiential Requirements:

  • Post –secondary education in a related field (Information Technology; Business)
