+Positive Voice at Nokee Kwe
Indigenous women creating positive personal narratives and community connections.
Established in 2016 by Nokee Kwe, +Positive Voice is an award-winning, innovative, professional development, and bridging program that supports the development of positive narratives and positive community connections.
Our participants are urban Indigenous Women, 16+ years and older, who are experiencing life transitions.
Previously a 7-week program, +Positive Voice participants would learn more about social and digital media, photography, and writing positive narratives.
The program is currently being revamped and will include hands-on experience and interaction with guest speakers such as artists and municipal, provincial, and federal government representatives.
The program is participant-driven and wisdom is sought from Indigenous Women, Grandmothers and Aunties and community practitioners.
The program will take a heart-centred approach to Indigenous Ways of Knowing, Traditional Practices, Original Languages, Ancestral Knowledge Exchange and lovingly empower women to assert their rightful roles in their own lives.

+Positive Voice News
We are in the process of revamping the +Positive Voice program. We have had great success with a number of people over the years we have been running the sessions. We are happy to have offered ribbon skirt making, medicine pouch making, strawberry teachings and paint days with local artists. We welcome new and innovative ideas to not only what knowledge we share but to how we share it. We are looking forward to a productive year in 2024.
