Nokee Kwe is looking for Event Committee Volunteers (6)

Mission: Nokee Kwe, founded on Indigenous principles, is dedicated to creating, promoting, and sustaining culturally sensitive environments, which encourage and support personal development and self-determination.

Vision: At Nokee Kwe, we will be known as an organization that is a leader in the provision of holistic and comprehensive services to Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals, assisting them in making meaningful life choices.

POSITION SUMMARY: Volunteer will assist in the planning and execution of community events for the purpose of awareness for the agency’s free programs and services

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings

  • Help establish event goals

  • Provide recommendations for achieving event goals

  • Participate in the planning of the event

  • Participate in specific planning activities to achieve the overall event goal

  • Represent the event in the media in a positive manner if requested

  • Maintain event data/statistics

  • Provide feedback and evaluation at the end of the event

PERSONAL QUALITIES: Volunteer should exhibit characteristics of organization, attention to detail, enthusiasm, good communication skills, and a desire to help. Experience in event planning and fundraising are an asset.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:·      

  • Minimum age of 18

  • Willing to: Participate in Nokee Kwe’s volunteer on-boarding

  • Provide 1 reference

REPORTS TO: Programs Director

TIME COMMITMENT:

  • Online and in-person (if working at Nokee Kwe) orientation

  • Regularly scheduled meetings as they pertain to event participation

  • Time to complete assignments/tasks that arise from the meetings

  • Minimum time commitment 1 hour/week- maximum time commitment is open

  • Event day – agreed upon schedule
