Online Survey on Apprenticeship and the Skilled Trades

On August 27, 2020, three Youth Advisors were appointed to provide advice and recommendations to the Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development about how to engage more young people in apprenticeship and the skilled trades and address the stigma associated with skilled trades careers. To inform recommendations, the Youth Advisors want to hear from educators, students, apprentices, journeypersons, parents, employers and others who want to share their opinion and experiences on how we can better encourage and prepare more young people to pursue a career in the skilled trades.

As part of their consultations, the Youth Advisors have released a new online survey to gather a broad range of perspectives and ideas. The survey is available until February 26, 2021 in both English and French and should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. To ensure the Youth Advisors reach as many people as possible, I encourage you to widely promote the survey to clients, employers and other partners throughout your community.

Thank you again for your ongoing commitment to supporting apprentices and the skilled trades in Ontario.

Sincerely,
